Hi. I’m David Shaw, and
welcome to AI News. In this episode, we will cover
an open source alternative to Syria and Alexa, tell
you about the new release of the Movidius
Neural Compute Stick, and finally point you to
the upcoming International Conference on Machine Learning. If you’re looking for an
alternative to Syria or Alexa, Mycroft might be
the next best thing to bring vocal computing
to your projects. Mycroft makes use of deep
learning, natural language processing, graphing databases,
and the latest and greatest in distributed
computing technology. It is also built on accessible
technology, specifically Python. The Mycroft
framework is designed to be portable and accessible
for novice programmers, yet powerful enough for
experienced programmers to achieve anything
they can imagine. Read this article to
learn more about Mycroft from the Intel
software innovators behind the Mycroft team. Intel recently launched the
Movidius Neural Computer Stick. It is the world’s first
USB-based deep learning inference kit and
self-contained AI accelerator. It delivers dedicated deep
neural network processing capabilities to a wide range
of host devices at the edge. Movidius does not require
a cloud connection. It aims to reduce barriers
to developing, tuning, and deploying AI applications
by delivering high performance, deep neural network processing
in a small form factor. The International Conference
on Machine Learning is just around the corner. This year, it’ll be hosted
in Sydney, Australia and runs from August 6th
through the 11th. CML is the leading international
machine learning conference and is supported by the
International Machine Learning Society. Thanks for watching,
and don’t forget to follow the links below
