Thailand puppets: Master puppeteers show off their skills at a huge carnival

Now this, it looks like a nightmare I had
once. But this is actually the opening ceremony
of the Harmony World Puppet Carnival in Thailand, an event which saw more than 160 puppeteers
from around the word take to the streets and, erm, scare the locals? I am the President. And I’m gonna change things. String puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppets
and marionettes were paraded through Bangkok’s historic district prompting plenty of laughter
from onlookers. The Harmony World Puppet Carnival is a collaboration
between Thailand’s Ministry of Culture and the World Puppet Carnival aiming to promote
the arts and the art of puppetry. The goal of this event is to gather all puppeteers
from around the world to perform in Bangkok. This time we have the more puppeteers participating
in the event than ever before. This year’s event attracted puppeteers from
80 countries, who will reportedly take part in puppet shows, puppet movies and puppet
videos throughout the carnival. Basically its puppet everything. The event in Bangkok will run from November
1st to the 10th, so feel free to avoid going out if you’re there until at least next week. This is endlessly creepy.
