Soon after his press briefing on his meeting
with Kim Yong-chol,… U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo talked
on the phone with his South Korean counterpart on Friday morning, Korean time. Pompeo shared with Minister Kang Kyung-wha
the results and details of the recent summit-prep talks between Pyongyang and Washington held
in various places, including the border village of Panmunjom. Pompeo also told Kang the action plans the
U.S. seeks to take in the future. The two once again reaffirmed Seoul and Washington’s
close cooperation and promised to continue this momentum for dialogue to realize the
denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and to settle a permanent peace in the region.
