Hello Walkers! 😀
Welcome to another London walk 🇬🇧 We’re on ARIEL WAY, across the street
from Shepherd’s Bush Train Station served by London Overground in fair zone 2
and Southern Shepherd’s Bush Underground Station
in fair zone 2, served by the Central line It’s a sunny weekday afternoon
in February 2019 with the temperature currently 15°C/59°F and we’re starting off in the
London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham UXBRIDGE ROAD Uxbridge Road high street shops
(travelling west-northwest) View towards Shepherd’s Bush Green Uxbridge Road continues straight ahead WOOD LANE Here is the mighty Westfield London it’s the largest shopping centre
in the UK and Europe with a retail floor area
of 150,000 m² (1.62 million ft²) the equivalent of about 30 football pitches! We are currently in the White City district home to Queens Park Rangers football club Television Centre is the
former home of the BBC now being redeveloped to include flats,
office spaces, a cinema and hotels Further buildings forming part of the huge
Westfield London shopping centre Wood Lane Underground Station in fair zone 2, served by the Circle
and Hammersmith & City lines View north-east towards the White City Living
residential development Let’s take a closer look
at Television Centre which was BBC Television headquarters
between 1960 and 2013 although the site was redeveloped
for residential and other purposes there are still three studios in use for
TV production, operated by BBC Studioworks in the windowless brick building which was
refurbished and then reopened in 2017 The Helios Courtyard
aka Television Centre ‘doughnut’ with a fountain containing the three-metre
high gilded-bronze Hellos statue which represented the radiation of
television light around the world and two reclining figures beneath the
fountain bowl represent sound and vision, the two components of television White City Underground Station
in fair zone 2, served by the Central line Junction with SOUTH AFRICA ROAD which leads down to the grounds
of Queens Park Rangers football club White City Place
(formerly known as BBC Media Village) is a mixed-use development including cafes,
restaurants, offices and the BBC Broadcast Centre
and Energy Centre Construction site for
Troubadour White City Theatre DORANDO CLOSE Royal College of Art – White City Campus
(right) said to be the world’s most influential
postgraduate institution of art and design WESTWAY (A40) Eighty Eight Wood Lane residential tower on the White City Campus
of Imperial College London SHINFIELD STREET EYNHAM ROAD NORTH POLE ROAD ST QUINTIN GARDENS We have now moved into the Royal Borough
of Kensington and Chelsea BARLBY ROAD Ladbroke Hall is a Grade II listed building built in 1903 as the headquarters
for the Sunbeam Talbot Motor Company and as such was part of the first
purpose-built car factory in Britain and since 2005 has been home to photographic,
film and event company, Sunbeam Studios Junction with ST MARK’S ROAD Pall Mall Deposit was built in 1901
as a safe deposit for furniture but is now home to several multi-media
and service-based businesses with the premises managed by Workspace Junction with EXMOOR STREET LADBROKE GROVE Grand Union Studios provides flexible
business units managed by Workspace plus a mix of shops and restaurants Junction with CANAL WAY A home created from an old 60ft water tower
by designer Tom Dixon Fruit Towers is the corporate office
for Innocent Drinks Grand Union Canal – Paddington Branch
