63 thoughts on “WCBS-TV news opens

  1. MR G now he works on PIX 11 as CW LEN BERMAN who was work on WNBC now its retiher also ernie is in WNYW FOX 5 bryan willliams ITS works at NBC NEWS

  2. This video is way better with the captions on. They actually have the names of the music themes and the names of the announcers. Really cool.

  3. And for those curious, the announcer in the "Grand" opens, is none other than the late Mr. Movie Trailer himself, Don LaFontaine.

  4. The first WCBS-TV (Ch. 2) news open shown at the 0:06 mark was actually from 1965 with Robert Trout anchoring.

  5. all the themes they have used have the same 10 note signature
    i kinda like that
it is like the station is trying to be iconic but being modern about it and not keeping the same theme forever like wjz

  6. nice montage though your video needs better volume control some clips i cant hear well and some nearly murder my ears while some are fine

  7. is the Brian Williams seen here the same Brian Williams who's on NBC now????!!!…and I didn't know Frank Field was on WCBS I thought he was just on WNBC and no I not in NYC I in Houston Texas where it's a little warmer

  8. DOES ANYONE know where i can get a loop of the blue background with the slowly rotating glass CBS eye?

  9. WOW! One thing for sure WCBS/2 had a dream team of anchors with Carol Martin, Michele Marsh, Rolland Smith, Jim Jensen Ernie Anastos and Dana Tyler. That was probably their heyday…Seems to the late 90s and early 2000s the station was in the dumps you can tell by the presentation..good stuff

  10. Our Phineas and Ferb fans of the Tri-State Area we've just reach 1,000 Supporters we'll keep on fighting to bring back Phineas and Ferb on the air go use the #SavePhineasandFerb on Social Media includes CBS New York Facebook and Twitter and go to a Petition online https://www.change.org/p/disney-abc-revive-phineas-and-ferb/u/13662240 and we'll send a good clear message to the Disney Channel HQ. in Burbank CA. "WE WANT PHINEAS AND FERB BACK ON THE AIR" with more new seasons PnF Star Wars and more Romantic moments can i count on your Support? if you are Welcome and join in thank you Phineas and Ferb forever.

  11. wow my cbs news opens from new york love it didn't watch as much of cbs as i did wabc i caught bits and pieces of the 5pm news when i stayed at my aunt and uncles so thanks now that im living in florida i mainly watch cnn don't care much about what is happening here

  12. A musical recording artist releases a piece of music for the ear, just as important, if not more so, an accompanying visual for the eyes. On the 29th of August 2018, the candidates for Governor of the State of New York, will appear in open debate, because its to be televised, the candidates, the news questioners, everyone that will be appearing on camera will be dressed in their best hair dye, this is my prediction, hope not to be off the mark just a few days before the debate. The televised debate will be sinocast by WCBS-TV News channel 2 NYC, whose entire on-air talent are dye heads, that’s 100%, oh wait, there is on occasion, the appearance of Tony Tantillo, who does not dye his hair, is a food expert, but I digress, now back to basics, it’s assumed this news program’s uppity viewer numbers are based on the fake hair dying of all their news anchors, reporters, even the weather and sports contributors, at least those with hair that can be dyed. A promo photo of the entire on-air broadcasters on the side of a bus, remember these are supposed to be serious journalists, but most times, appear like the population cast in elaborate streaking blond dyed hair and make-up, as if of a reality entertainment television show, with visions of hookers and pimps.
First the egg, then the chicken, first the music then the video, first the anchor, then the hair dyes.
    Except More…More Hair Dye…

  13. 13:59 I’m pretty sure those are similar to what WFRV used from 2006-2007, which were the last two years of its CBS ownership.

  14. WCBS, the flagship station of the CBS Television Network in New York, NY, is owned CBS Corporation. WCBS in the sister station to independent station WLNY in Riverdale, NY, CBS O&O station KYW and CW O&O station WPSG in Philadelphia PA.

  15. You forgot the 1976-79 opening with the dots connecting the Ch. 2 logo back when Roland Smith anchored with Vic Miles
